Luke graduated from Durham University in June 2023 with a first-class MChem degree. During his degree he also studied mathematics, biochemistry and physics.
He opted to spend the final year of his MChem degree on industrial placement at DuPont Teijin Films, where he completed his master’s research project on the development of Li-doped co-polyester films for use as solid-state electrolyte in energy storage applications. Alongside this, Luke became particularly involved with the IP department at DuPont Teijin Films, during which, he gained exposure to several different material technologies such as polymer electrolyte, film coatings and mechanical analysis.
Luke’s studies specialised in the fields of physical and materials chemistry, electrochemistry and polymer synthesis. Upon graduation, he was presented with an award for having achieved the highest overall mark of all students on his course in his academic year.
He joined Schlich in November 2023 to begin training as a UK and European patent attorney and looks forward to building his skills in patent drafting, prosecution, opposition, and due diligence.
