If there is one thing the Schlich team does best (in addition to handling IP matters of course), it is getting together to eating cake!
Last month, we hosted an office coffee morning to raise money for our local hospice charity, St Wilfrid’s Hospice. St Wilfrid’s are an independent charity who support the local community by providing palliative and other care to those suffering with life-limiting or terminal illness.
When it comes to baking, the Schlich team never disappoint, so unsurprisingly our dining room was filled with sweet and savoury treats, from sausage rolls to Biscoff rocky roads and everything in between. A special shoutout goes to Vicky Colley for providing not one, not two, but three bakes!
Of course there had to be prizes too, with the best in appearance going to Alex Bajjon for his beautifully crafted Jaffa Cake muffins and the best in taste going to Vicky Colley for her delicious lemon and poppy seed cake.
Despite having baked more cakes than we knew what to do with, the coffee morning was a huge success and the total amount raised was a whopping £540 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice. To put this into context, St Wilfrid’s have shared that a donation of £531 pays for the hospice to provide patient care for one bed in their ward for a day.
Outside of work, one of our trainee attorneys, Chloe Sullivan, is currently training for the 2025 London Marathon which she will be running in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice. Chloe is currently working towards her own personal fundraising target of £2000.
