John has a degree in microbiology from the University of Warwick, UK, specialising in biosensors. He qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney in 1992. He is also qualified as a representative before the EUIPO, for EU trade mark and design filings, and studied for and gained the CIPA Intellectual Property Litigation Certificate.
He has worked with clients from many countries but particularly from Japan, Sweden, USA and Norway as well as the UK.
John's practice has principally been before the European and UK patent offices, where he has extensive opposition and appeal and other hearing experience, but he is also managed worldwide patent prosecution projects.
John has particular experience with biotechnology, medical devices, chemical and mechanical technologies.
He is particularly interested in due diligence projects for investors, and improving portfolios for investment, having been involved in the preparation of patent attorney reports for several stock-market listings.
